How It Works

How It Works

The same simple sequence each time, from positioning the device to the finished result.

  1. Toes First sock-assist device held straight and positioned ready for use

    1. Position the Device

Place the Toes First device in the proper position and make sure it is straight and ready to use.

  2. A white cotton sock being loaded onto the Toes First sock-assist device

    2. Load the Sock

Place a compatible sock over the device and prepare the opening for your foot.

  3. Toes sliding into the sock opening held open by the Toes First device

    3. Slide Toes First

Guide your toes into the sock first and continue moving your foot forward.

  4. One hand guiding the sock into place on the foot to finish dressing

    4. Finish Dressing

Use one hand to guide the sock comfortably into place.

The motion

Watch it happen

  1. Placed and straightened

The device sits flat and square so the sock loads evenly every time.

  2. Sock loaded, opening prepared

A compatible sock slides over the device and the opening stays held wide.

  3. Toes go in first

No pinching the sock shut, no chasing the opening with your foot.

  4. One hand guides it home

A single, steady pull finishes the job with far less reaching.

  5. Done

Sock on, seated, without bending down to the floor.

Our story

Why we made Toes First

Faced with an everyday problem, we decided there had to be a simpler way.

Getting dressed is something most of us rarely think about—until putting on a pair of socks becomes difficult.

Reaching down, bending, maintaining balance, or trying to manage a sock with limited use of one hand can turn a simple part of the morning into an unnecessary struggle.

That is why we created Toes First.

We wanted to build a sock aid that was simple, practical, and easy to understand. No batteries. No complicated setup. No straps or cords to manage. Just a straightforward device designed to help make putting on socks easier while seated, with less bending and greater independence.

Toes First was built around a simple idea: sometimes a small improvement to an everyday task can make a meaningful difference in someone's routine.

Whether you're using Toes First yourself or purchasing it for a spouse, parent, family member, or friend, we hope it helps make getting dressed a little easier and gives you one more thing you can do with greater independence.
